Shannan Tibet Culture and Tourism Bureau held a marketing promotion conference for Shannan Tibet Cultural Tourism under the theme of “Happy Tibet Love in Shannan”

November 18, 2024: Shannan Tibet Culture and Tourism Bureau held a cultural tourism marketing promotion conference in Shannan, Tibet Autonomous Region, attended by Vice Mayor Tsering of the Shannan People’s Government. Today, the Bureau invited leaders from relevant departments to attend the event and took the opportunity to deliver speeches to promote cultural and tourism relations between Tibet and Thailand. Local tourism representatives from Thailand were also invited to attend the event.

This meeting is a good opportunity for both parties to exchange views on the situation of the tourism market in Thailand, as well as to present important information on cultural tourism in Shannan, including products from important tourist attractions, focusing on cultural exchanges and cooperation between Shannan, Tibet and Thailand to create in-depth exchanges in various areas, such as the exchange of joint tourism resources between the two countries. Shannan is a land of wonders that has nurtured Tibetans, reflecting the simple and determined way of life of Tibetans, and has created a beautiful Tibetan civilization here. It is therefore the birthplace of Tibetan culture and has many “firsts” in history, such as:
– Yongbulakang, the first Buddhist temple
– Changzhu Monastery, the first temple in Tibet
– Samye Monastery, the birthplace of Tibetan Opera
– Bakabu, the first agricultural land- Sotang
